Courage & Character
Hello Fall River Fox Families,
Hard to believe, but our state testing window is already upon us. The Colorado Measures of Academic Success (aka CMAS) is our state’s means of assessing the overall proficiency of our 3rd, 4th and 5th graders. The CMAS assesses English Language Arts (or Reading & Writing) and Math. In 4th grade students are also assessed in Social Studies, and our 5th graders participate in the Science test.
The past four years have been our best ever on the CMAS, and it shows in our annual state report card from the Colorado Department of Education. In the spirit of Courage & Character, we encourage our kids to give it their best and to show us what they’ve got.
If your kiddo is taking the CMAS this year, please encourage them to give their best effort and to use it as a learning experience. Afterall, assessments are part of the life experience, whether testing to get into your college of choice, passing your nursing exam, or receiving your license in the trades.
Good luck Foxes!
Onward and upward!

Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Spring 2025
Schools in Colorado use standardized testing as a way to measure student’s academic progress and prepare students for life in the real world.
Mark your calendars! This year testing for 3rd-5th graders will occur between 4/8/25-4/18/25 (makeups 4/21-4/24).
Please keep these dates in mind when planning in the Spring. Minimizing students absences and tardies during this time is extremely helpful.

Traffic Safety at Fall River
Preschool/Discovery Den Parking
We put out a pamphlet each year to explain our Traffic Safety at Fall River. The following includes information from the section about our parking lot and specifically preschool parking.
For preschool safety we have set aside a few spots in the parking lot solely for preschool parking. Preschool parking is a limited privilege intended to accommodate preschool parents who have toddlers and babies. If you are a preschool parent without a toddler or baby, we encourage you to park in the neighborhood with our K-5 parents. We simply do not have enough spaces for all preschool parents. Once you have delivered or picked up your preschooler, please move your vehicle to make room for others to park. Please do not stay in the preschool spaces after dropping off your preschooler to accompany older siblings to their class. Unfortunately, we do not have the people power to always monitor preschool parking. We are relying on our parents to act in good faith.
If you have kindergarten and older children, we ask that you use the drop off/pick up lane or park on the street and walk in using our sidewalks. Our small parking lot is ONLY for staff, preschool, discovery den, volunteers, and handicapped parking.
Thank you all for your help!
