A huge Thank You to everyone who helped with this year’s Fox Trot! Since we held this event a week later than last year, preliminary numbers are not yet available, but we should have news to report by the October PTO meeting,
A further welcome from your PTO board! Hopefully you were able to read through our newsletter in your packet of back-to-school papers. Fall River PTO recently launched our own Facebook group. To join, just search “Fall River PTO” on Facebook, hit Join Group, and answer the membership eligibility question. In order to help protect our students’ privacy, we want to be sure that every member of this closed group is connected to a current FRES student. We hope that this will be a convenient way for people of keep updated on PTO a
The end of the school year is a busy time for FRES students and families, and for the PTO as well! There are still many ways to get involved!
Our final PTO meeting of the year will be on Monday, May 8, at 3:35p. We will vote on next year’s executive board, discuss planning for next year’s Fox Trot, and review recent and current PTO projects. As usual, child care will be provided for kids 3 years of age and older.
Our next PTO meeting will be on Monday, April 10, at 7pm. We will be discussing plans for Carnival and Teacher Appreciation Week. Ideas and volunteers are needed. Coordinators have been identified for each event, but they could definitely use some additional support. As usual, childcare for children ages 3 years and up will be available.
Be on the lookout in late April and May for opportunities to order a copy of the yearbook and to pre-order tickets for this year’s Carnival and school supplies for next year.
Our next PTO meeting will be on Monday, March 13, at 3:35p. Our special topic this month is on developing resources for parent volunteers at Fall River. We will present advice from teachers and staff, but are also seeking input from current volunteers on what they have learned and what they would still like to learn. Our goal is to have a final product available for presentation at the start of next school year to try to improve the parent volunteer experience. We hope that as many parents as possible will come and share their thoughts. As usual, childcare for
After taking a break in January, we will be having our next PTO meeting on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 3:35p. Childcare will be provided. In addition to our usual business, our special discussion topic this month is School Safety issues. We will learn more about the safety protocols in place at Fall River (and what to do if you happen to be in the building during a drill or emergency). We will also hear about upcoming renovations made possible by the passage of the bond measure last fall.
Happy New Year! Thanks to everyone who came to our December meeting. We hope to be able to repeat the snack-and-chat portion at a future meeting, so watch for your second chance at treats and socializing. There is NO meeting in January; our next general PTO meeting will be on Monday, February 13, 2017, at 3:35p.
Even though we aren't having a meeting this month, there are a couple of PTO events coming up.
We would like to thank the entire Fall River community for helping to make our restaurant nights such a success! The PTO earned $325 at Freddy’s in October and an impressive $710 at Chipotle in November! We will be discussing how best to use this windfall at our next PTO meeting. Two additional community nights are planned for after the new year, so please stay tuned for those. We’d also like to remind everyone of the monthly Fall River night at Nicolo’s on each Late Start day. We appreciate the ongoing support of one of our local businesses.
Now that Fox Trot, fall conference meals, and Fall Clean-up Day are over, the PTO would like to extend its thanks to all of the parent volunteers that have helped make these events successful! Special recognition goes to Stacy Jamison for taking on the task of coordinating our fall conference meals and to Deb and Wes Lowrie for once again organizing our Fall Clean-up Day.
We are thrilled to report that our annual Fox Trot was once again a huge success. Final numbers will be available at the beginning of October, but preliminary results show that this was another record-setting year with our students and their families raising over $35,000 to help support our school. We want to thank everyone who contributed, whether physically or financially.
