Start School With a Smile

By Dr. Charles Fay

At schools across America, teachers see two types of first–year students: one quickly adjusts to school and begins to enjoy it, the other cries each day at the door. By applying some easy–to–follow Love and Logic® guidelines, parents can help their youngsters belong to a very lucky group– students who start school with fun instead of fear.

Arrange a tour of your child's school before the year starts.

100 Mile Club September News

In order to increase moderate to vigorous physical activity (MVPA) outside of the school day, Fall River will be offering our 100 Mile Club again this year. As 100 Mile Club participants, students can track the miles they walk or run during 100 Mile Club designated time at school, during special recess days, and at 100 Mile Club sanctioned community events. This allows ALL students to participate and is a great way to combine all of their activity towards a common goal—walking or running 100 miles during the school year.

Education, and the greatness of our nation

One of the most important institutions in our society is public education. Of the approximately 55 million K-12 aged children in the United States, it is estimated that 90 percent are enrolled in public schools. Second only to parenting, the longstanding institution of public education will have the greatest influence on America’s future.
In Colorado, we’ve experienced an ongoing discussion around the adequacy of resources for our public schools with mixed results.

Congratulations Class of 2018

Public Education – Empowering the Future
Public education is one of the most powerful systems for driving positive change in our society.
Across the United States, approximately 90 percent of our children attend a public school – and in the St. Vrain Valley, that percentage is even higher.
