Courage & Character
Hello Fall River Fox Families,
With warmer spring time weather beginning to show up, I feel this is a great time to share some reminders about student dress. Although we don’t have a specific student dress code, here are a few general guidelines I like to follow:
- Clothing should always be comfortable and weather appropriate. Please be sure to watch the weather reports, as we all know Colorado weather can shift from day to day.
- Tops & bottoms should cover undergarments at all times.
- Clothing should not be too revealing, and should remain elementary school appropriate. Examples of inappropriate clothing for children are spaghetti straps, short-shorts and crop tops.
- Currently, I do allow students to wear hats, as long as the hat does not become a disruption.
- Shoes should be closed-toe, especially on PE days.
- Hoodies are fine, but hoods need to be down during the day.
- Graphics and text on clothing should be age appropriate as well.
I’ve always said that a great rule of thumb is just to remember that our kids are kids. Let’s let them dress like kids should. We can save the more grown up stuff for high school.
Generally speaking, it is very rare that we have a dress concern here at Fall River. That’s a testament to all of you fantastic parents. Thank you for your support and collaboration.
Onward and upward!
