Courage & Character
Hello Fall River Fox Families,
With the recent snow, we’ve had an up-tick in parents dropping items off for their children at the front office during the school day. Drop offs of gloves, snow boots, ski pants–and even water bottles have been pretty frequent.
With this year’s focus on Courage and Character, I’d like to encourage our parents to resist the temptation to bail your kiddo out when they forget something at home. If your child forgets to put their water bottle in their backpack, let them go the day without it. They will be more likely to remember it the next time. When there’s snow on the playground, and your child forgets to wear their snow boots and gear, it’ll be alright. They’ll just have to play on the blacktop for a recess or two.
Not only will this help develop a resilient kid, but it will also minimize the disruption to their instructional day. In fact, it’s important to be aware that every time an item is dropped off it can often be an interruption to the learning of an entire class of students.
Along with academic proficiency, we want our Foxes to develop independence, grit and the mental toughness to be successful in the face of adversity. Let them face the little challenges that life throws at them. They’ll thank you for it later.
Onward and upward!

Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Spring 2025
Schools in Colorado use standardized testing as a way to measure student’s academic progress and prepare students for life in the real world.
Mark your calendars! This year testing for 3rd-5th graders will occur between 4/8/25-4/18/25 (makeups 4/21-4/25).
Please keep these dates in mind when planning in the Spring. Minimizing students absences and tardies during this time is extremely helpful.
Mini Raptors Dance Camp
Silver Creek Dance Team is hosting a Mini Raptors Clinic on January 25th at Blue Mountain Elementary. They offer reduced prices for students who qualify for Free and Reduced lunches. Athletes will receive a t-shirt, bow and learn choreography to perform at a basketball game!
