Fall River Elementary Newsletter

Hello Fall River Fox Families,

In my old gray haired principal opinion, the best years of our lives are the years spent as parents of our elementary age kiddos.  And believe me, these years go by fast.

This holiday break represents the half-way point of this school year.  Yes, this year is already half-way done.  My advice: Spend every waking moment over the next two weeks making as many family memories as you can.  Hug your kids, read them stories, watch Charlie Brown’s Christmas together, have a snowball fight (I hope it snows), play board games, eat together, call old friends, call your loved ones, take lots of pictures.  Make the most out of it, because these magical days of childhood just blow right by.

Thank you all for being such a great community.  Thank you for helping our team do our best to make the Fall River years the best of your parenting lives.

Enjoy the holidays and happy New Year.

Onward and upward!

Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) Spring 2025

Schools in Colorado use standardized testing as a way to measure student’s academic progress and prepare students for life in the real world.

Mark your calendars! This year testing for 3rd-5th graders will occur between 4/8/25-4/18/25 (makeups 4/21-4/25).

Please keep these dates in mind when planning in the Spring. Minimizing students absences and tardies during this time is extremely helpful.

Mini Raptors Dance Camp

Silver Creek Dance Team is hosting a Mini Raptors Clinic on January 25th at Blue Mountain Elementary. They offer reduced prices for students who qualify for Free and Reduced lunches. Athletes will receive a t-shirt, bow and learn choreography to perform at a basketball game!

Fall River Elementary is part of the Boulder County Eco-Cycle Green Star School Program

We’re excited to continue showcasing student artwork on
Artsonia! This platform is a fantastic way to celebrate your
child’s creativity by sharing their artwork with family and
friends, no matter where they are. It also supports our art
program through personalized keepsakes. Please check your
child’s Friday folder this week for permission forms and more
information about Artsonia.
To take advantage of this wonderful opportunity, you can log
into Artsonia using your child’s assigned account name. Once
logged onto artsonia.com, you can update your email address
and grant permission for your child’s artwork to be featured.
Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,
Mr. Kloser

Outdoor Recess and the Weather

We make every effort to have recess outdoor. As the weather starts getting colder please remember these things:

  • Send your students appropriately dressed for the changing conditions.
  • We will be outside unless the conditions are not safe or temperatures “feel like”  below 20 degrees.
  • We ask that students bring snow pants and boots if they would like to play in the snow.
