Dear Fall River Families,
There is always so much going on at the end of the school year—I don’t think it can all into this one small page!!! So let me be sure to encourage you to read all of the classroom information coming home in the next few weeks to be sure you know all of the fun coming up! Watch for field trips, Field Day, end of year parties, and more!
One of the most important events will be our Teacher Appreciation Week coming up soon. Can we really thank them for all they do in one short week?!? I can’t wait to be a part of all the fun PTO has put together to celebrate how great our staff is, and I want to thank everyone who participates in advance for helping us recognize the absolutely fabulous fantastic Fall River staff. Thank you also to all of the parents who nominated our teachers for the Encore Awards, another great way to show our teachers how much we appreciate all they do!
Now that the weather is gorgeous on a regular basis, we are pleased to see more students walking and biking to school. Please be safe during drop off and pick up; we continue to receive complaints about unsafe drivers during this time. Drivers need to stay off cell phones, out of the fire/bus lane, and out of crosswalks. Please do not walk through the driving lanes or parking lot; use sidewalks at all times. It takes all of us working together to keep our kids safe!! Thank you for encouraging kids to be outside, and to do so safely.
To add to the excitement of the end of the year, our construction/renovation project is definitely in full swing! We have to pack nearly the entire school for the major work being done this summer, and have to have this all done by noon Friday, May 25. In other words, you will be seeing a lot of packing going on from here to the end of the year! Please pardon our bare walls and other disruptions; we are trying to minimize disruptions to students as much as possible, but some of the changes are unavoidable in order to meet our “move out” deadline. Also, access to the office will be changed for the summer due to construction. We will have a temporary office in the west portable the week after Memorial Day weekend, and then be working remotely until July 23 (when we will return to the temporary office until the building is ready in August). You will be able to reach us by phone and email in June while we are working remotely (our school office will be completely closed the end of June and beginning of July for summer vacation, though you can always email us).
I want to take the opportunity during this last newsletter of the school year to thank you for partnering with me to do our very best for the students of Fall River Elementary. The students of Fall River could not be more friendly, fun, and fired up for learning. And what a superb staff, so committed to children and learning, supported by an incredible community of parents who truly understand that we all work together to do the absolute best we can for children because they are our future.
Thank you for supporting us in delivering excellence in education and for having the Courage to be Outstanding!
