Our next PTO meeting will be on Monday, April 9, from 6-7p. A guest speaker from Grassroots St Vrain will be presenting about school funding in Colorado. We will also be discussing plans for Carnival and Teacher Appreciation Week. Ideas and volunteers are needed. Coordinators have been identified for each event, but they could definitely use some additional support. As usual, childcare for children ages 3 years and up will be available.
The PTO will be hosting this year’s BOGO Book Fair before and after school on April 23rd-26th. Volunteers will be needed during set up, sales, and tear down. Please contact the board if you are interested in helping out. Please note that because we are offering “get one free” books, the BOGO fair does not generate money for the school or the PTO. Our goal is to get books into kids’ hands in a way that is as affordable as possible for families. Due to this, vouchers are unfortunately not available for BOGO Book Fair volunteers.
Be on the lookout in late April and May for opportunities to order a copy of the yearbook and to pre-order tickets for this year’s Carnival and school supplies for next year.
Finally, as the end of the school year marches ever closer, it is time for us to start thinking about candidates for the 2018-19 PTO Executive Board. If you are interested in finding out more, please contact a board member in person or by email. All Fall River parents/guardians are PTO members by default and are therefore eligible for consideration. Elections will be held at our May meeting.
