Fall River Elementary Newsletter

Hello Fall River Fox Families,

Welcome to the new school year! It’s great to see all those happy excited faces! And welcome to our weekly newsletter. This is our primary means of communicating important school-wide updates and events with our parents. Our newsletter goes out at the end of every week, and always launches with a letter from me.

Today I’d like to share a few very important announcements:

New Record!: I am very proud to announce that our spring CMAS results are in and we have once again beaten our all-time record. We earned our highest scores ever on both the combined Literacy and Math assessments. One of the primary reasons for our success is YOU. We appreciate your trust, your support and all of your enthusiasm.

Family Picnic, Friday, August 22, 4:00-6:00: You don’t want to miss this event. This is a great way to meet other families, make some friends and have some relaxed fun. There will be several food trucks with some great choices for dinner. We encourage our families to bring blankets and/or lawn chairs and just enjoy hanging out.

Traffic Safety: We appreciate all of your patience and teamwork. We know that drop-off and pick-up times can get pretty busy. We’ve learned a lot over the years for the best way to manage the rush, so we appreciate your trust. Thank you for working together with us to make sure all of our little Foxes are safe.

I’m looking forward to another remarkable year. See you soon.

Onward and upward!

Quinn O’Keefe

Welcome to Fall River for
the 2025-26 school year!

Here are some helpful reminders and useful links

Drop off procedures

  • Please refrain from using your cell phones during drop off and pick up.
  • Please enter and exit the parking lot slowly.
  • ALL students grades K-5 are to be picked up & dropped off in the car loop before and after school unless they walk from off-campus.
  • Have children ready before you go through the loop (coats on, backpack in hand, goodbyes, etc.); this allows them to get out of the car more quickly and helps the line move much more efficiently. Be sure to have your child exit on the sidewalk side of the car. DO NOT have your child exit on the traffic side of your car.
  • Parents should not exit their car to help children out of the car.
  • ONLY pre-school parents may park in the parking lot before and after school. If you are a preschool parent, please remember that parking spaces are limited. Please use a cross-walk to walk your child to their class line. NO students may be picked up or dropped off in the parking lot.
  • NO students may be picked up or dropped off in the bus lane at any time, even during the school day. This lane needs to be kept open for emergency vehicle access.
  • Handicap parking is reserved for students with disabilities before and after school, and is not available for adults at that time.

Late Start Days

Late Starts are typically the first Wednesday of the month. The dates are Sept. 3, Nov. 5, Dec. 3, Feb. 4, March 4, April 1, and May 6. There are no Late Starts in October or January. School starts at 11:20 AM, with normal dismissal time at 3:25. Lunch will be served on Late Start days.

Attendance

Attendance is very important to us! It is crucial to have your student(s) here on time so they are able to join their peers and stay on schedule. We allow for 5 absences, no questions asked.

However, after that they will be marked unexcused unless accompanied with a doctor’s note. Emergencies, religious observances and inclement weather are also excused. Communications will go out each day at 9:45 if a student is marked unexcused. Please try to call or email the office as soon as you know your child will be absent. For any attendance concerns please call or email our attendance clerk, Nicole Morton, at (720) 652-7920 or email to [email protected].

Important iPad Updates for the
2025–2026 School Year

St. Vrain’s District Technology Services has made several updates to student iPads for the upcoming school year to support a focused and secure digital learning environment both at school and at home. One key update is the implementation of a new internet filter, Securly, which adds an extra layer of protection to iPads by blocking certain types of websites.

For more information about these updates – and what they mean for your child’s device — please click here.

100 Mile Club Logo

Do you have a kid with a little extra energy?  Have a child that starts their day slow and tired?  Do you have a student at Fall River that is in kindergarten to 5th grade?  If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, your child(ren) would be perfect for 100 Mile Club. 100 Mile Club is a team that focuses on getting some exercise in before school starts to help get students ready to learn.  Studies show that just a few minutes of being active can have a positive impact on mood and increase brain activity.  We meet every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday mornings from 8:00 to 8:40 at the blue canopy on the back playground.  You do not need to show up every day and you don’t even need to be on time.  Our goal is to get students moving, whether that’s for the full 40 minutes or the last 10, because one lap is better than zero.  100 Mile Club will run from Tuesday, September 2nd through Monday, May 4th.  Please click on the link to sign your child(ren) up for 100 Mile Club.  We look forward to seeing you out there.
