Art Room Update

Congratulations to Kylie Paul, Karissa Erikson, and Abigail Honc! Their designs were selected for the 2018-2019 yearbook cover.

5^th grade- Artists have finished constructing their ceramic boxes and will begin glazing once their pieces are fired. They are also collaborating with their peers to create ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls Project, which helps support the OUR Center’s annual fundraiser to assist those in need.

4^th grade– Artists are finishing up ceramic coil pots and will begin studying Native American rock art.

3^rd grade– Artists have just finished their Gyo-Taku fish prints and will begin their study of Japanese wood block printing, creating their own relief prints while continuing to learn about the printmaking process.

2^nd grade– Artists have just completed their Snowy Day cityscapes and will be studying and creating their own aerial perspective maps.  

1^st grade- Artists are continuing to learn about expressing emotion and feelings through art.

Kinder – Artists are focusing on winter and creating art using a variety of drawing materials. They recently made polar bear drawings to explore the use of chalks and shape in their art, and they are currently creating artwork based on The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats.
