STEM at Fall River in December
In December, Kindergarten and 1st Grade will continue the STEM unit in Science they started in November. The initial lessons had students define science. In small groups students classified objects and activities as being science or not science. The process and group dynamics added a lot to the discussion because they found out that just about anything could be science. This unit will continue through December with science experiments throughout. Ask your student what they found in sand.
Third grade got started on TinkerCad, the 3D design program. Each week third grade students add to their understanding and use of TinkerCad, with the eventual outcome with be a group project which will make use of Fall River’s 3D printer.
Projects and STEM lessons for the upper grades are being developed during December to be delivered in the new year.
