Congratulations to Kylie Paul, Karissa Erikson, and Abigail Honc! Their designs were selected for the 2018-2019 yearbook cover.
5th grade- Artists have finished constructing their ceramic boxes and will begin glazing once their pieces are fired. They are also collaborating with their peers to create ceramic bowls for the Empty Bowls Project, which helps support the OUR Center’s annual fundraiser to assist those in need.
Student Council did not meet in January. We are looking forward to meeting on Thursday, February 14th. We have a task from Dr. Guthals to help with some announcements that will help students remember to use their ROCKS behavior around the school. Also, Mrs. Staples and Mrs. Witko are excited to hear what ideas the council members have to impact our local community.
In December, Kindergarten and 1st Grade will continue the STEM unit in Science they started in November. The initial lessons had students define science. In small groups students classified objects and activities as being science or not science. The process and group dynamics added a lot to the discussion because they found out that just about anything could be science. This unit will continue through December with science experiments throughout. Ask your student what they found in sand.
