Happy New Year! Thanks to everyone who came to our December meeting. We hope to be able to repeat the snack-and-chat portion at a future meeting, so watch for your second chance at treats and socializing. If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to get more involved with PTO this year, your first chance will be at our next general PTO meeting will be on Monday, January 8, 2018, from 6-7p in the library.
Cold and Flu season is upon us. Please help stop the spread of germs by washing hands and if you have not gotten a flu shot…consider getting one over the holiday break. Have a restful break and be well!
The Preschool students spent two weeks in November studying bread. They baked, experimented, tasted, and described. We wrapped up our study on bread at the end of the month with a celebration with families in our classroom. Bread was shared while children discussed the story of The Little Red Hen and the importance of helping. Children also talked about what ingredients are in bread, the science behind yeast and baking soda, and the tools bakers use. Students were also able to demonstrate their good manners. The children created their own baked goods for our dramatic play bakery.
Hopefully, you’ve taken the opportunity to sign up for Artsonia or have the Artsonia app to see what Fall River artists have been creating. If you have not signed up and would like to, please contact me for information. Here’s what we have been working on in the art studio.
Kinder- Starry Night Collage: artists have finished up their collages and I’m looking forward to working with them to hone their artistic talents in the New Year.
