Art December News

Hello Parents,

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful holiday season!

Hopefully, you’ve taken the opportunity to sign up for Artsonia or have the Artsonia app to see what Fall River artists have been creating. If you have not signed up and would like to, please contact me for information. Here’s what we have been working on in the art studio.

Kinder- Starry Night Collage: artists have been exploring color mixing with the primary colors and a variety of brush techniques to create color swatches for their Starry Night collages.

1st grade- Winter Tree Landscapes: artists created landscapes exploring different watercolor techniques. They later painted winter trees to create depth in their work.

2nd grade- Dot Paintings: artists are beginning to study Australian Aboriginal Art and how to use dots and symbols to create a work of art that tells a story.

3rd grade- Printmaking: artists are studying Gyo-Taku printing, the ancient art of Japanese fish printing. They will be transforming their black and white prints into colorful fish environments and learn about the exterior anatomy of fish.

4th grade- Coil Pots: artists will be creating coil pots exploring how line can be used to create repetition.

5th grade- Empty Bowls: artists will be collaborating to create bowls for the OUR Center annual fundraiser for their food program.

Thanks,

Mr. Kloser
