Our Mission

We are a united community educating the whole child in the pursuit of excellence. At Fall River Elementary, we believe in STEM Integration and 21st Century skills, Differentiated Instruction, Positive Behavior Support, Community Involvement, Whole Child Education, and Academic Excellence for All!

School Motto


In 2009, the staff and students of Fall River Elementary created our school motto.  First, staff members brainstormed words they thought were powerful and inspiring for those who work with children and in the field of education.  Next, staff members worked in teams to create 5-7 word mottos using at least two of the words from the "inspirational" pool.  Finally, the mottos were shared with the entire student body, who voted to choose the one they felt both inspired them and described best what is special about Fall River Elementary.  These five words are our touchstone to remind us that you have to be brave, work hard, and never give up to achieve your very best!  Fall River Elementary...The Courage to be Outstanding!

STEM Focus

We are excited to have been awarded, as part of the Skyline High school feeder system, a Race to the Top grant worth $16 Million over four years. Students at all grade levels experience, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics, integrated into their day.

Students also learn 21st Century Skills, such as collaboration, communication, and creativity. Students engage in hands-on inquiry based learning that encourages problem-solving and critical thinking.

School Goal

Fall River's continuous goal is to see students progress academically, psychologically and socially.

To meet these goals, we have:

  • An Accountability Team of both staff and parents meets to review data to maintain a high level of accountability over the program for learning.
  • Professional Learning Community meets weekly in grade level teams to plan for differentiated instruction and monthly as a whole school for data-driven dialogue.
  • The latest in technology upgrades throughout the school have enhanced the learning process.
  • RtI/MTSS meets students intervention needs by providing early academic assistance. All students access interventions and enrichment daily through Intervention/Enrichment time and flexible reading groups.
  • A school-wide Positive Behavior System called ROCKS emphasizes responsibility and supports students in making positive academic and behavioral choices.

Achieving Academic Success

Fall River students consistently score above district and state averages on state assessments. Achieving academic success at Fall River includes:

  • Small group instruction and individualized learning opportunities,
  • Teachers trained in differentiation to address the academic needs of every student.
  • Strong literacy support for students and teachers.
  • Parent volunteers that reinforce classroom instruction.
  • Outstanding ESL and Special Education support.
  • STEM activities and 21st Century Skills integrated into daily learning.

Supporting the Learning Process

  • Response to intervention (MTSS) meets students’ needs by providing early academic assistance. All students access interventions and enrichment daily through intervention/enrichment time and flexible reading group instruction.

  • Professional Learning Community meets weekly in grade level teams to plan for differentiated instruction and monthly as a whole school for data-driven dialogue.
